FAQ (or Frequently Asked Questions)
A: Very easily. Either ring us on +44 (0) 1233 500464 or mobile 07939 101065. E-mail
PrivateTransfers@virginmedia.com or use our
Enquiry form on the Contact Us page. Please use whichever method you prefer. If sending an enquiry by e-mail, please give full postal addresses, not just postcodes.
A: If you advise your dates and times of travel when enquiring then we will always check and advise our availability when giving our quote. All quotes are subject to our availability at the time of confirming a booking so a delay in making a decision may mean disappointment.
A: We provide a high level of service, part of which is to meet you in the Arrivals Hall at an airport or Eurostar terminal and as you come landside at a cruise terminal wherever possible. We will have a board with your name on and will help you with your luggage to our vehicle.
Q: What licences or other authorisations does Academy Cars have?
A: Mark Harrison, Proprietor of APT, has a Taxi Operators Licence issued by Ashford Borough Council. The Council also licence all of the vehicles. This is subject to them checking for valid insurance and also a twice-yearly Compliance Test (an MoT by another name). All drivers are also licenced by the Ashford Borough Council and are subject to CRB and health checks.

A. We always check flight times by Teletext, the airports web-site and if necessary other web-sites so we know if a flight is late (or occasionally early!) and will adjust our times accordingly. For this reason it is essential that we are advised of your flight number and departure airport.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
A: We do. The cost of this is included in our rates.

Q: Tell us more about your vehicles?
A: All of our vehicles are high specification executive models. This means that they have features such as air-conditioning (dual-zone in some cases), leather seats, power points for laptops, privacy glass and so on. The exact specification varies from car to car. The people-carriers are all long-wheelbase versions meaning plenty of room for up to 6 passengers and their luggage in comfort.

Q: Can you help us to check-in at the airport?
A: Yes we can, and we do this regularly for some clients. However this is not included in our normal rates and a small extra charge may be involved. We are always happy to provide extra services if required by a client.

Q: Are your people-carriers disability adapted?
A: No they aren't. However they do have room to carry a wheelchair folded up if the person can enter and exit the vehicle normally and sit safely and comfortably in the normal vehicle seat. Please remember that wheelchairs can take extra space and this may restrict luggage space a bit. If you require an adapted vehicle please call Barrie on 0776 529 0182

Q: What about child seats?
A: Normally we can provide these at no extra cost. We must be advised of the childs age, height and weight in order to provide the correct seat. Alternatively you can use your own seat and we will look after it until your return journey.
PLEASE NOTE: we do not permit children or babies to travel on an adults knee. Children will only be carried whilst seated in an appropriate child/baby seat.
