Dover - Port of Kings

Dover has long been famous for its White Cliffs, its Castle and the worlds busiest ferry port. In recent years Dover has also developed as a successful cruise terminal. Many of the major cruise lines now use Dover including Fred Olsen, Seabourne, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Saga and others. In 2010 Disney Cruise Lines also used Dover.

APT are based in Ashford, ideal to serve Dover Cruise terminal. We offer a range of services to help you make the most of your holiday. Transfers between Dover and central London, major airports and other destinations, or between Dover and the Eurostar terminals at Ashford Int'l and Ebbsfleet Int'l.

We can also add value and interest to your transfer. Many clients have used their transfer as an opportunity to see historic Canterbury and the CathedralLeeds Castle or other places of interest. Or maybe just meandered through the pretty Kent countryside with a stop at a country pub for lunch. Let us know what you want and we will see what we can do for you. We can also do day tours whilst you are in port taking in these sights or other places of interest such as the famous animal parks at Port Lympne and Howletts.

A few bits of advice based on our experience and that of previous clients:
If you are flying in from overseas, then arrive a day or more before your ship sails. This avoids stress and anxiety if your flight is late. It also allows time for some sightseeing before cruising. Many clients are now staying in London for a few days before joining their ship at Dover. Others have stayed in Canterbury to see the Cathedral and historic city centre, others have stayed in Dover or Deal overnight before their cruise. Or how about Folkestone and its emerging Artists quarter near the old harbour?

If the timings of the Eurostar at Ashford don't seem convenient then consider Ebbsfleet as an alternative

If you are flying out of the UK on the same day that you disembark your cruise ship, please remember that at least 2 hours driving time should be allowed for a transfer between Dover and Heathrow airport, and 1.5 hours between Dover and Gatwick airport. Morning flights are therefore not a realistic option. Flying home the day after leaving the ship, or spending a few days sightseeing in the UK, is a great option.

Please remember that if you needed two cars to get to the airport at home, you may well need two cars or a people-carrier for your UK transfer.
